1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies solely to the Android mobile application UUD 1945 Handbook, application ID com.uud.uud1945referensi, developed and published on Google Play by Adjie Santoso. It covers no other application or service.

2. Disclaimer regarding government affiliation

This application is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representative of any government entity.

The app includes UU No. 1 Tahun 2023 (KUHP) and UU No. 20 Tahun 2025 (KUHAP), as enacted, alongside the old KUHP and KUHAP 1981, which are labelled as repealed historical references. Later amendments and court decisions may affect individual provisions. Pancasila's five principles are in the UUD Preamble; the Kemhan page contains the 45 practice points. Summaries and practice questions are app-created study aids, not official government publications or exam material.

3. Information the app collects

3.1. Data stored on your device

Your bookmarks and their notes, quiz best scores and daily streak, chosen theme, chosen language, the saved "Article of the Day", and whether you have seen the one-time feature tour are stored on your device using Android's app preference storage. They are removed when you uninstall the app.

Your device holds the copy the app actually reads. Everything except your bookmarks stays there and is never transmitted to us. Your bookmarks are also never transmitted to us unless you sign in with a Google account, in which case a copy is synced as described in section 3.4.

3.2. Analytics

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used. It records screen views and in-app interactions (such as opening a document, tapping the quiz card, or a banner ad being shown), together with standard technical information: device model, operating system version, app version, coarse country or region derived from your IP address, and a randomly generated app instance identifier. This information is not used to identify you personally, and we do not combine it with any personal data.

3.3. Anonymous account

By default the app signs you in to Firebase Authentication with an anonymous account. This creates a randomly generated account identifier held by Google on our behalf. It contains no name, email address, phone number, or password, and we do not ask you for any of these. It exists only to keep app state consistent, and it is not used to identify you as a person.

3.4. Signing in with Google (optional)

You may choose to sign in with a Google account, under Settings → Account. You are never required to, and every feature of the app works without it.

If you do sign in, Google provides us with the name, email address, and profile picture URL on that Google account, and Firebase Authentication stores them against your account identifier. We use them for one purpose: to show you which account you are signed in to. We do not use your email address to contact you, we do not add it to any mailing list, and we do not share it with anyone.

We never receive your Google password.

Bookmark sync. While you are signed in, the app keeps a copy of your bookmarks — the passage you highlighted, the note you wrote on it, which document and article it is in, and when you made and last changed it — in Cloud Firestore, stored against your account identifier. This exists so that your bookmarks can be restored when you reinstall the app or move to a new phone.

That copy is private to your account. It is readable and writable only by someone signed in as you, it is never shared with other users, we do not read it, and we do not use it for analytics, advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than returning your bookmarks to you.

If you never sign in, no bookmark of yours ever leaves your device.

You can sign out at any time, which stops the syncing and leaves the bookmarks on your device untouched. You can also delete the account and its synced copy entirely — see section 10, Deleting your account.

3.5. Advertising

The app displays banner advertisements through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may access your device's Advertising ID and other technical identifiers, and may use them for ad personalisation and frequency control. This processing is performed by Google under its own privacy policy.

3.6. What we do not collect

We do not collect your phone number, contacts, photos, files, precise location, or a record of what you read or search for in the app.

Two things depend on whether you sign in with Google, and neither happens if you do not:

4. Offline access

All legal texts are bundled inside the app. Reading and searching them requires no internet connection, and the app does not download legal content from any remote server. Advertising, analytics, authentication, optional bookmark sync, and opening external government sources or this privacy page require internet access.

5. Notifications

The app can show a daily "Article of the Day" notification. It is generated on your device from the bundled legal texts and scheduled locally. No notification content is sent from, or transmitted to, any server. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Android settings.

6. Permissions

The app declares the following Android permissions, some of which are added automatically by the Google SDKs it uses:

The app requests no permission for your camera, microphone, contacts, storage, or precise location.

7. Third-party services

The app uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

8. Data sharing and sale

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties other than the Google services listed in section 7, which process it as our service providers in order to operate advertising, analytics, authentication, and optional bookmark sync.

9. Retention and deletion

Data held on your device is deleted when you uninstall the app. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time through Settings → Google → Ads on your Android device, and you can opt out of ad personalisation there. To request deletion of the anonymous account identifier described in section 3.3, email us at the address below and we will delete it.

For the Google account described in section 3.4, see the next section.

10. Deleting your account

If you signed in with Google, you can delete that account at any time. You do not need our permission and you do not need to contact us first.

In the app

  1. Open the app and go to Settings.
  2. Under Account, tap Delete account.
  3. Confirm. Google may ask you to choose your account again, to check that it is you.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Without the app

If you have uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in, email adjiesantooso@gmail.com from the Google account you signed in with, asking us to delete your account. We will delete it within 30 days and confirm by reply. Please include the app name (UUD 1945 Handbook) so we can identify the right account.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

What is not deleted

Your bookmarks, notes, quiz scores, and app settings stay on your device. The copy on your device is the one the app reads, it is yours, and deleting your account is not a request to lose it. To remove it as well, delete the app's data through your device's Android settings, or uninstall the app.

The analytics described in section 3.2 are not tied to your account and are not affected. They are held for a maximum of 14 months from collection.

11. Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can delete it.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any change will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Please review the page periodically.
